Our Cities
Our Stories
Hear, Here gives a voice to familiar spaces — spaces that we move through every day. The humblest building, nondescript corner or unremarkable stand of trees can be transformed by the stories we tell about them. Once heard, these stories can change the way we think about spaces and the community at large.
We know about the history of the founding families like the Labatts or the Harris family of Eldon House.
But we do not know the stories of the everyday people who make up our community. Hear, Here allows us to access this social history and to think about where our community has been and where it is going.
Street Level Signs
In three London neighbourhoods — South of Horton (SoHo), Great Talbot and The Village — orange street-level signs with the Hear, Here logo show you where stories are located. With your mobile phone, dial the phone number on the sign to access a first-person account of things that happened in the exact location where you stand.
Access these same stories by clicking the icons in the map above to experience our history from the comfort of your own home OR download the Driftscape app.
